The significant phases and development of the long history of the Deaconess Foundation are told on these websites as well as through exhibitions and guided tours (in Finnish).

Our Exhibition

Neighborly Love

History and activities of the Deaconess Foundation since 1867 are on display in the lobby of the main building. The Neighborly Love exhibition features, among other things, the oldest artifacts of the Deaconess Foundation, some items from the foundation’s founder Aurora Karamzin, and miniature models of the deaconess sisters’ dresses. From the space, you can also peek into the communion bread bakery!
The texts are in Finnish, Swedish and English.
