Vamos offers support to young people
Vamos focuses on meeting young people in a way that is non-urgent, confidential and tailored to their needs.
With us you get assigned your own youth worker who has time to get to know you. You can participate in individual and group coaching in which you will receive support with your daily life and future planning, as well as help in gradually finding your way to school or work.

BRP Inc. is a global leader in the world of powersports products and powertrains, built on over 80 years of ingenuity, innovation, and intensive consumer focus. In 2022, BRP launched its global corporate cause under the banner of Ride Out Intimidation. Through this program, BRP takes a firm stand against bullying. Vamos Rovaniemi has been a part of the program since 2023.

The trauma caused by bullying can make it difficult for a young person to plan for their future, for example. Vamos Rovaniemi offers young people intensive and long-term coaching, where each participant is assigned their own coach. The coaching is built around the young people’s own wishes and needs. They also have the opportunity to take part in peer support groups.
All of Vamos’ operations follow the principles of a safer space.
We ensure that everyone can participate as they are, and that no one is bullied. The groups always include a peer mentor — a former Vamos participant — who understands and supports the young people based on their own similar experiences. We also offer small thematic groups focusing on bullying, where the topic can be addressed confidentially and safely. Young people are encouraged to share their own stories of overcoming adversity with others. They are supported in expressing their experiences and turning them into strengths.
This support allows us to directly influence young people’s wellbeing. The most significant positive changes during coaching are seen in trust and hope, mental health, and issues related to employment and education. Young people’s self-esteem strengthens, and their confidence in the future begins to grow. In small groups, social skills improve, and the threshold for building new friendships is lowered.
The trauma caused by school bullying gradually recedes when we can discuss these experiences safely and confidentially, while also offering opportunities for positive successes. Through coaching, we support young people in engaging with services offered by the City of Rovaniemi, participating in cultural activities, and taking part in society.
